TradesMen DataLens

TradesMen DataLens — a read-only window into ecosystem databases.

A read-only PostgreSQL observatory for safe inspection, health, and auditing of ecosystem data.

What TradesMen DataLens is

TradesMen DataLens is the database observatory of the ecosystem. It gives a single operator a safe, read-only window into the PostgreSQL databases behind the TradesMen apps — no write access to production data. DataLens auto-discovers databases, offers a query console restricted to SELECT, SHOW, and EXPLAIN, captures live health and performance snapshots, masks sensitive fields, audits roles and privileges, inventories pgvector usage, raises alerts on anomalies, and logs every action. It is an authorized administration webapp built for monitoring and incident response, with a strict single-user, read-only security model.

Problems it solves

  • Operators need to inspect production data without risking writes
  • Database health and risky privileges need continuous visibility
  • Sensitive fields must be masked even during legitimate inspection

Who it’s for

  • The platform operator inspecting database health
  • Authorized administration and incident response only

Core modules

  • Database discovery
  • Safe query console
  • Health and performance snapshots
  • Data masking
  • Role and risk auditing
  • pgvector inventory
  • Alerts
  • Audit log

Key features

  • Auto-discovery of databases across the cluster
  • Read-only query console (SELECT, SHOW, EXPLAIN only)
  • Live health and performance snapshots
  • Sensitive-data masking on results
  • Role and privilege risk auditing
  • pgvector and AI index inventory
  • Alert engine for database anomalies
  • Full audit logging of every action

Example workflows

An operator runs a read-only query to investigate an issue, with sensitive columns masked.

A health snapshot flags long-running queries and a vacuum backlog.

A role audit highlights an account with risky privileges for review.

Integration points

  • Reads ecosystem databases through a strict read-only role
  • Enriches dashboards with app metadata from AdminHub
  • Shares health context with Security Center
  • Supports incident response alongside operator workflows

Admin & governance

  • Single SuperAdmin, read-only by design
  • Query sandboxing that blocks any write statement
  • Sensitive-data masking and audit logging
  • No write path to production data

How TradesMen DataLens fits in

TradesMen DataLens is the read-only data observatory of the ecosystem. It works alongside Security Center and AdminHub to give operators safe visibility into the data layer without ever touching it.

TradesMen DataLens is an authorized administration/control webapp for ecosystem operators. It is not positioned as a normal public consumer app, and the visuals shown here represent authorized operator context without exposing private operational data.

Availability: DataLens is a private, authorized administration webapp with a strict read-only, single-operator model. This page is intentionally high-level.
